iPad Air And iPad Mini 2 First Look

The release of the new iPad Air, along with a price increase for a new Mini model.     When Apple came out with a  iPad mini last year, the original ipad  suddenly seemed to be  heavy and bulky. The iPad Mini fit more easily in pockets, bags and hands. It was also cheaper than the full-size version.

The new iPad air at just 1 pound, the Air is 28% lighter than last ipad model and just a quarter pound heavier than the new Mini. The starting price remains at $499. The size of the screen is the same as  9.7 inches diagonally. On the whole the volume is reduced by 24%.

To make the iPad Air 20% thinner, Apple worked on every layers size: the front glass, the touch sensor, the display, the battery and the aluminum back. Apple says it kept the device durable without unnecessary materials. It's not until you hold the old and the new side by side that you feel and appreciate the difference.

Configuration of the all new iPad Air:
  • It includes  A7 processing chip which is found in the new iPhone 5S. Apple says it's twice as fast as last fall's model.
  • The iPad Air also comes with a companion M7 processor, which improves battery life for motion-related sensor data. The A7 processor uses a 64-bit system similar to desktops.
  •  This makes the Air great for games and apps.
  • Two Wi-Fi antennas work to deliver up to twice the speed.
  •  iPad Air adds a microphone on the back, while keeping the one on top.
  • Cellular versions, offered for $130 more, work with a greater number of 4G LTE frequency bands.

There is a 24% reduction in battery capacity to get the iPad slimmer, but Apple says it's able to keep battery life the same at about 10 hours for Wi-Fi web surfing. That's because the A7 is more efficient at using power.

Disappointed of ipad air is that there is no finger print scanner which is used in iPhone 5S. The Air also doesn't have the iPhone 5S's improved rear camera or the various camera features that can shoot slow-motion video and take up to 10 photos per second.

iPad Mini: The new display is just amazing. Text appears the way it would on paper, not dull and fuzzy as can be the case on lower-resolution screens. A7 and M7 processors, the dual Wi-Fi antennas and the two microphoneswhich are available in iPad Air remains same in the Mini at 7.9-inch screen.

The new iPad Mini costs $399, or the same as the 2011 iPad 2. That means you have to choose either a better display or a larger size at that price. Or you can pay $499, or $100 more, for both the decent display and the larger size found in the Air. (For so-so display and a smaller size, you can get the original Mini for $299, down from the $329 when it first came out.)

Amazon's new full-size Kindle Fire HDX is even lighter than the iPad Air, though it's also slightly smaller, at 8.9 inches rather than 9.7 inches. Samsung has a 10-inch Galaxy Note tablet that comes with a stylus.

What the iPad offers is an unmatched selection of apps, particularly those optimized to take advantage of the tablet's larger screen. Most Android phone apps do work on tablets, but content is often merely blown up. In addition, many leading apps are offered on Apple devices first, and some never make it to Android at all.

You do pay more for an iPad than most of its rivals, but you get better app selection, ease of use and, with the new Air, an elegant design.

Micromax to launch Windows phone on early 2014.

Micromax

Micromax co-founder Rahul sharma , the Economic Times of India has revealed that the company, who is more successful that Nokia in India, is looking to release a Windows Phone next year.

Global market intelligence firm, IDC previously noted that the Indian smartphone market tripled its shipments year-over-year in the second quarter of this year. The same quarter also saw more than 50 per cent growth over Q1 2013. It's a lucrative market, which Nokia is already in the process of tapping into with the Lumia 520 proving to be the most popular Windows Phone in India, according to previousAdDuplex reports.
Rahul Sharma told ET that the company was working on a Windows Phone right now for release in the middle of 2014.
The company, which had 22% of India’s smartphone market in Q2 2013, compared to Nokia’s 5%, is looking to expand to Russia and from there into Eastern Europe, and eventually UK and USA. He noted than in UK 50% of phones are now sold unlocked.

Even though Microsoft will be incorporating Nokia into the Redmond beast, Micromax still views Windows Phone as a growing platform with potential even for emerging vendors. It'll be interesting to see how Micromax attempts to differentiate itself from Nokia and other Windows Phone OEM partners. More "phablets" running Microsoft's mobile OS? We certainly wouldn't turn any down.

Micromax was also working on LTE handsets and planned to sell 50 million handsets in 2014.

autonomous CARS

An autonomous car, also known as a driverless car,self-driving car or robot car, is an autonomous vehicle capable of fulfilling the human transportation capabilities of a traditional car. As an autonomous vehicle, it is capable of sensing its environment and navigating without human input.Robotic cars exist mainly as prototypes and demonstration systems, but are likely to become more widespread in the near future.
Autonomous vehicles sense their surroundings with such techniques as radar, lidar, GPS, and computer vision. Advanced control systems interpret sensory information to identify appropriate navigation paths, as well as obstacles and relevant signage.[7] Some autonomous vehicles update their maps based on sensory input, allowing the vehicles to keep track of their position even when conditions change or when they enter uncharted environments.

PROJECTS:

The Google driverless car is a project by Google that involves developing technology for autonomous cars. The software powering Google's cars is called Google Chauffeur. Lettering on the side of each car identifies it as a "self-driving car." The project is currently being led by Google engineer Sebastian Thrun, director of the Stanford Artificial Intelligence Laboratory and co-inventor of Google Street View. Thrun's team at Stanford created the robotic vehicle Stanley which won the 2005 DARPA Grand Challenge and its US$2 million prize from the United States Department of Defense. The team developing the system consisted of 15 engineers working for Google.

HACKERS TYPES & TERMINOLOGIES

White Hat - re hackers who work entirely within the law
they are also motivated to explore systems for intellectual curiosity, rather than for malicious or criminal intent. White hat hackers oppose doing damage to systems, stealing data, or interrupting service to a Web site. But their activities may be illegal if they explore systems they aren't authorized to enter. White hats can also unintentionally damage or delete data. Many white hat hackers work as well-paid security consultants, programmers, and network administrators.

Black Hat - is the other way around , they are malicious. Well hmm lets see If you think of www as the wild, wild west, then you can guess on which side of the law the black hat hacker operates. Black hat hackers (aka "crackers") steal data or damage systems. The most dangerous black hats are able to remain undetected for years, secretly monitoring a victim's PC for whatever nefarious purpose they have in mind

Grey Hat - is just in between white hat and black hat
Gray hat describes a cracker (or, if you prefer, hacker) who exploits a security weakness in a computer system or product in order to bring the weakness to the attention of the owners. Unlike a black hat, a gray hat acts without malicious intent. The goal of a gray hat is to improve system and network security. However, by publicizing a vulnerability, the gray hat may give other crackers the opportunity to exploit it. This differs from the white hat who alerts system owners and vendors of a vulnerability without actually exploiting it in public

IP SPOOFING
IP spoofing, also known as IP address forgery or a host file hijack, is a hijacking technique in which a cracker masquerades as a trusted host to conceal his identity, spoof a Web site, hijack browsers, or gain access to a network. Here's how it works: The hijacker obtains the IP address of a legitimate host and alters packet headers so that the legitimate host appears to be the source.

DEADLOCK n. A situation wherein two or more processes are unable to proceed because each is waiting for another to do something.

Daisy Chaining - This is what every good hacker does to avoid getting caught. Basically, you gain entry to a computer or network and use it to gain access to another, then to another. Hackers who get away with database theft usually do this then backtrack (this means they go backward after doing what they intended nd cover their tracks by destroying logs etc).
script-kiddie - This term denotes those who do not know how to hack systems but use malicious code written by others to do their damage.

Cookies – A cookie is a small packet of information from a visited webserver stored on your system by your computer’s browser. It is designed to store personalized information in order to customize your next visit.

Looking Ahead To Apple’s Oct. 22 Special Event

On  Oct. 22, Apple will unveil their final batch of new products for 2013-14. Expected are new iPads and Macs, the official launch of OS X Mavericks and the next-generation Mac Pro.
Here’s what you need to know heading into Apple’s next special event:

The iPad 5

  • Apple’s 9.7-inch iPad will receive a rare design change on Tuesday, plus some new features.
  • By the end of the day, the iPad 5 will look a lot like a super-sized iPad mini, with many of the internals of the iPhone 5s.
  • This means a thinner design (and yes, new cases), along with an A7X-powered processor, new camera, and more.
  • Most likely, the iPad 5 will also include Touch ID. However, at least one analyst says that isn’t happening, so we’ll have to wait and see.

The iPad mini 2

  •   The iPad mini 2 could feature a Retina Display and an improvement on the 1024 x 768 pixel resolution of its predecessor – possibly fronting a TouchID fingerprint scanner into the bargain.

OS X Maverick

  • It’s been four long months since Apple demoed OS X Mavericks at WWDC. Since that time, developers have been testing a series of preview versions of the new Mac operating system. On Oct. 4, Apple made the gold master, or final version of OS X Mavericks, available to developers.
  •  OS X Mavericks includes a number of goodies including iOS carryovers, Maps and iBooks, plus new features such as Finder tabs, and tags. OS X 10.9 also includes improved support for multiple displays, a better Notification system, and iCloud Keychain.
  •  These features, while nice, aren’t exactly revolutionary, which suggests that Apple may offer OS X Mavericks as a free update in the Mac App Store. At a minimum, the update shouldn’t cost anymore than did its predecessor. OS X Mountain Lion launched at $19.99.

New Macs

  • The MacBook Air and iMac have each received updates in recent months. Both models now include Intel’s next-generation Haswell processors and support 802.11ac Wi-Fi. These additions, and others, should arrive on next-generation versions of the MacBook Pro and Mac mini.
  • Also arriving should be the new Mac Pro. First demoed at WWDC, the revolutionary new model has been completely redesigned for 2013. The biggest questions now are when it will be released to the public, and more importantly, what it will cost.

Updates to Apple’s own apps

  • Last month, Apple changed the look of most of their stock apps to reflect the minimalist design of iOS 7. Apps such as iPhoto and GarageBand, however, have remained the same.

  • That will probably change soon after the iPad event. Icon images have now surfaced that suggest a refresh is coming soon, not just to iPhoto and GarageBand, but to other Apple apps as well.
  • Speaking of iWork, Apple could soon unveil the first significant change to the suite this decade across multiple platforms, including OS X. If true, the update would arrive just months after iWork for iCloud was released as a public beta.

New iPods

  • Once Apple’s most popular product line, the iPod has seemed like an afterthought in recent years. The iPod Classic hasn’t seen an update during this decade, and changes to the iPod shuffle and iPod touch have been minimal, at best. Only the iPod nano seems to change every few years.

  • We’ll probably see only modest iPod updates introduced next week. The biggest unknown is whether the iPod Classic is refreshed, retired, or left alone for a fourth straight year.

Apple TV

Apple has remained mum on the future of the Apple TV, and whether an actual television set is coming. In recent months, Apple has added a number of new channels to the existing product, including Watch ESPN, HBO Go, and more.

Nokia World 2013, the company is planning a mega-launch event in Abu Dhabi on(OCTOBER 22).
The devices that are likely to be launched at the Nokia World event in the Gulf Kingdom are the likes of the Lumia 1520, which is going to be Nokia’s first phablet, along with the Lumia 2520, which will be the Finnish manufacturer’s first tablet offering. There will also be three new Asha devices that will be unveiled.
The Abu Dhabi event is one of the largest and last  events held by Nokia, so let’s take a look at all the new devices that we will see tomorrow
Nokia Lumia 1520
Lumia 1520 Everything you need to know about the Nokia World event on October 22
The Lumia 1520 will feature a 6-inch full-HD screen and other high-end hardware in the form of a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 SoC that includes a 2.2 GHz quad-core CPU and an Adreno 330 GPU. The device has also been said to feature a 20-megapixel PureView camera, and while it is not as earth-shattering as the 41- megapixel variant included in the Lumia 1020, . The device will come with 2 GB RAM and internal storage variations of 32 GB and 64 GB. The Nokia Lumia 1020 price is set at around $750 dollars in countries across the globe, and as such the Lumia 1520 will also cost a similar amount. Also, the launch of the Lumia 1520 should drive prices of the Lumia 1020 lower, which should make the device more accessible to buyers.

Nokia Lumia 2520-tablet
Lumia 2520 Everything you need to know about the Nokia World event on October 22
The Lumia 2520, codenamed Sirius, is Nokia’s first tablet offering, and is said to cater to the high-end market. The tablet will likely feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 800, along with a 10.1-inch full-HD display that has 5-point multi-touch and wide viewing angles, 32 GB ROM and Windows 8.1 RT. A 6.7MP camera at the back and a 2 MP offering at the front are also said to be included. The tablet will come with 4G LTE connectivity, and feature USB 3.0 and micro-HDMI ports.

Nokia Lumia 1320

The Lumia 1320 is likely going to be the successor to the Lumia 625. It is said to feature the same 4.7-inch screen size as the Lumia 625, and a similar 5 MP camera with LED flash. The internal hardware is likely to be slightly better, and Nokia is said to launch the device for a much lower price tag than what the Lumia 625 was originally offered for. One of the main criticisms of the Lumia 625 was its high cost, with the Lumia 625 price being similar to the Lumia 720 in a few countries. Nokia is looking to not make the same mistake with the Lumia 1320.

Nokia Lumia 525

The Lumia 525 will be the successor to the best-selling Lumia 520. The Lumia 520 contributed to a third of all Windows Phone device sales in the first quarter of 2013, and its affordability along with great design  were what led to its high sales. Nokia looks like it will likely retain the vibrant design of the Lumia 520, and will feature hardware that is in-line with what was offered on the Lumia 520. A new feature on the Lumia 525 will be the Nokia Music service, which will come bundled with the device. Nokia is also said to throw in a headset along with the device.
  • Asha 500, 502 and 503
  • The Asha 500 will be a dual-SIM offering, and features a similar design to the Asha 501. It is said to feature Wi-Fi and 2G connectivity.
Asha 502 Everything you need to know about the Nokia World event on October 22

  • The Asha  502 is a dual-SIM device as well, and has a camera with LED flash.
  •  The Asha 503 is the single-SIM variant of the Asha 502, and is said to feature 3G connectivity, a first for a device in the Asha series.
Aside from all the new devices, Nokia is also said to launch a few accessories. The acquisition of Nokia’s devices unit to Microsoft will be finalized by March, so this will be the last  event.
